Citizen Engagement and Community Solidarity

This memo summarizes the main content of the input from Marie Feddersen (Varde Municipality) and Lelde Abele (Vidzeme Planning Region), both project partners of the BSR Cultural Pearls Project. Marie’s contribution concentrates on the value of voluntary work for both communities and individuals. She illustrates this with two examples: the „Sommerlandslauget“ project and the DOX Film Festival in Denmark. Lelde’s part gives an insight to the Vidzeme Culture Program, an example of integrative participatory budgeting for cultural measures.
