Helsingborg to Celebrate BSR Cultural Pearls Award on Sweden’s National Day

On June 6, 2025, the city of Helsingborg hosted a grand celebration at Fredriksdal Museums and Gardens in honour of Sweden’s National Day. As part of the official program the awarding ceremony of the BSR Cultural Pearls also took place, recognizing Helsingborg’s commitment to foster social resilience and community engagement using the power of culture.

The main stage program featured the National Day ceremonies, official speeches, musical performances, and the Swedish national anthem. At the BSR Cultural Pearls Awarding ceremony Mr. Felix Schartner Giertta, project manager of the BSR Cultural Pearls project representing the Council of the Baltic Sea States Secretariat (CBSS), handed the award to representatives of Helsingborg Municipality. The title acknowledges the city’s outstanding efforts in fostering cultural activities that strengthen social cohesion and creativity among its residents with particular focus on young people and seniors.

Beyond the formal ceremonies, visitors of all ages were able to immerse themselves in the rich history and vibrant atmosphere of Fredriksdal Museums and Gardens. Throughout the day, the museum’s historic buildings were open to the public, offering a unique glimpse into life over a century ago. Guests could also enjoy live performances, interactive exhibitions, and family-friendly activities designed to celebrate Helsingborg’s heritage and dynamic cultural scene.
