BSR Cultural Pearls project partner the Northern Dimension Partnership on Culture (NDPC) has just released a new publication that gives municipalities clear, practical methods for using culture to build stronger, more resilient communities: ‘Culture-Driven Social Resilience: A Practical Toolkit & Casebook for Municipalities to Take Action’.

Produced by Creative Insights Studio (Sweden), the publication explains how towns and cities can work systematically with local cultural actors. The material also highlights real-life examples of municipalities collaborating with creatives, featuring our 2024 and 2025 Cultural Pearls and the pilot activities they implemented through the project’s seed money initiative.

Seed Money Initiative Roadmap

The Seed Money Initiative serves as the BSR Cultural Pearls project’s method to
support the awarded BSR Cultural Pearls in piloting and
testing new creative solution activities with their local
Cultural and Creative Sector (CCS) practitioners. It offers
financial assistance to encourage the Pearls to engage with
their local CCS in innovative ways and to utilize creative
services effectively to foster social resilience.
The CCS practitioner collaborating with the Pearl is
eligible to receive up to 5000 EUR support for their local
piloting activity. For example, you can collaborate with a CCS
practitioner to design future visions and scenarios, to create
artistic interventions, or to facilitate community dialogue.
